Jen Simmons' style and approach are unique due to her clinical background and counseling training, which includes blended approaches from Eastern and Western traditions. She finds person-centered, strength-based, and solution-focused therapy to be the most common approaches used in her practice, however, she also enjoys utilizing acceptance commitment therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), EMDR, Mindfulness and Meditation, Positive Psychology, Narrative Therapy, Art Therapy, and others. She is currently in dissertation phase of her PhD researching the somatic experience of awe.
