Immediate, and covered
Equip understands the urgency of anorexia. Our admissions team guides you through the insurance process so that life-changing care can start right away—without financial strain.
Evidence-based
Equip only uses gold standard treatment modalities that have been rigorously proven to be most effective for treating anorexia. This includes FBT for younger patients, and CBT-E, DBT, and ERP for adults.
Virtual by design
Equip care is delivered virtually not just for convenience, but because it works. Patients can practice recovery skills where they live, eat, and go to school or work—lowering the risk of relapse after treatment ends.
As intensive as you need
Over 87% of our patients are high-acuity, many transitioning from hospital or residential care. Our treatment is designed to evolve with you—not to keep you cycling in and out of treatment facilities.
How treatment works
It takes a specialized, experienced team to fully beat anorexia. Equip brings that comprehensive team to you—and coordinates everything so that your providers are all on the same page, and you can focus fully on recovery that lasts.
Medical care
Anorexia often causes nutritional deficiencies, electrolyte imbalances, or other physical health issues that need to be addressed. You’ll work with an Equip medical provider to monitor any health complications and manage prescriptions.
Virtual eating disorder treatment is proven to be just as effective as in-person alternatives.
Therapy
Your therapist will help you or your child address the emotional and psychological aspect to anorexia, while identifying triggers and healthy coping skills. They’ll also help you work through any co-occurring conditions, like anxiety or depression.
One study found that any type of therapy leads to significantly better eating disorder treatment outcomes than no therapy at all.
Nutritional counseling
Your dietitian will guide you or your child to achieve full weight restoration (if needed), establish regular eating, understand nutritional needs, and reduce mealtime stress. They provide this support through a personalized meal plan and ongoing check-ins.
Dietitians are proven to be a key component of eating disorder treatment.
Mentorship
Patients and their loved ones have access to mentors with lived experience either recovering from an eating disorder or helping a loved one recover. Mentors remind you that you’re not alone, and provide much-needed empathy, motivation, and real-life advice when you need it most.
Eating disorder patients who receive peer mentorship in recovery showed greater reductions in both body dissatisfaction and anxiety.
Groups, workshops, and more
Equip provides additional resources so that patients and/or caregivers can get tangible support throughout the day, build new skills, and connect with others who share similar experiences. This includes workshops, live meal support, and over 50 weekly support groups.
